Friday 1/13/23 School schedule will move to a minimum day schedule, ending at 12:30pm. Based on the current road conditions, predicted weather throughout the afternoon, and the high tide planned for the later afternoon, we have decided to move to a minimum day schedule, with the school day ending at 12:30pm. Please pick up students by 12:30pm, and our busses will be departing soon after. South busses from Tomales may travel through Chileno Valley Rd, with Highway 1 potentially closing just south of Tomales, so understand that there may be delays in return time. We want to ensure our students, families, and staff are able to return safely home. Please contact your school site with any questions.
All schools will be open tomorrow Friday, January 13th. We will monitor tomorrow's weather activity throughout the day and update you if needed, however at this time we anticipate no disruption to school.

WMS, INV, TES, and THS will all reopen today. As the power remains off in Bodega Bay, with no current timetable for return, BBS will remain closed today Tuesday 1/10/23.
WMS, INV, TES, and THS will all reopen today. The power is currently out in Bodega Bay, so we are waiting to make a determination about BBS. We will send another message by 6:45AM regarding the status of BBS. We encourage everyone to take extra time and care in their travel today. We recognize that the rain and wind are persisting, and we also understand the importance of having our students in school. All schools will be closed today, Monday January 9th. While the power has returned to our school sites, based on our assessment of the current road and weather conditions, we believe that the safest course of action is to close schools for today. We will make this school day up on our second emergency make up day, on May 26, 2023. We anticipate reopening schools tomorrow, Tuesday January 10th, with less severe weather continuing throughout the week. I will send an update this evening by 6pm. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
SUSD Update for Monday 1/9/23: All schools plan to be open tomorrow. At this point the power is on at all of our schools and the road conditions allow for travel to all school sites, therefore all schools are planning to be open tomorrow, Monday January 9th. We are anticipating another storm this evening and will be tracking the travel and power conditions into the early morning. We will send an updated message tomorrow morning by 6AM to confirm school status and/or update you as needed.
Schools will be closed Thursday January 5th due to severe weather conditions. Based on the current road conditions, as well as the anticipated increase in rainfall and high winds throughout the night, we are making the decision to close all Shoreline schools for tomorrow, Thursday January 5th. We will make up this school day on April 7th, our first emergency school closure day. While we anticipate reopening schools on Friday January 6th, we will continue to monitor the weather and road conditions, as well as power outages, throughout the day tomorrow and provide an update by 6pm tomorrow night.
